Disney vacations are notoriously expensive and many families save for years to make it possible for their families! If you are looking to travel to Disney on a budget, keep reading for our best tips on saving money on a Disney Vacation.

Make Payments on a Disney Trip

This doesn’t necessarily save you any money, but does make a Disney vacation feel a bit more financially feasible for many people. You can book your trip months in advance and make payments over time. Disney resort vacation packages are typically able to be booked with just a $200 deposit whereas cruises usually require 20% down.

Pay with Gift Cards

A number of retailers such as Sam’s Club and Target offer special promotional rates on Disney gift cards. And, if you have a Kroger in your area, you can often get fuel point promotions of up to 4x fuel points on gift card purchases. You can then use the gift cards to pay for your Disney vacation, or to pay for your purchases once you are at Disney.

Bring Your own Food and Water Bottles

Disney has some awesome quick-serve food and sit-down restaurants, but you definitely don’t have to eat every meal in the park. Disney allows you to bring food and snacks in with you which will definitely cut down on the price. You can even bring a small cooler (just no loose ice!). Bottled water in the parks cost up to $5 which can really add up if you are staying for multiple days. You can bring a reusable water bottle and fill at various locations around the park which will definitely save you some money on your Disney vacation!

Book with a Travel Agent

Travel agents don’t have secret access to special prices to Disney, but we do know about all of the available promos as soon as they come out and can even apply promos to your package after you book if it will result in a better price for you! Many travel agents, such as myself also offer additional bonuses for booking through them such as travel gifts or gift cards.

Take a Cruise

Many people have sticker shock when they see the prices of a Disney cruise but once you account for the fact that nearly all of your food and entertainment is included in the price, plus all of the Disney magic (character encounters, etc etc), you will see you can pack a lot of value into the fare! Our Disney cruise was one of our most favorite Disney vacations ever!

As a travel agent who specializes in Disney, I would love to help you plan the perfect Disney cruise or park vacation!
